Josefin & Mikael

14th of June 2025

Tying the knot after 8 and a half years together!

We met in London whilst working together in Kingston Upon Avon at a customer service center for the Nordic market.

Little did we realise that we would be saying yes to each other 10 years later, having spent 8 (and a half!) wonderful years together as a couple. Throughout our journey, we have shared new experiences, cherished memories, good days, tough days, holidays in new countries and old countys. Over time we've come to feel that we are already feel married in our hearts, but we believe that it is high time for us to finally make it official, not just for ourselves but also to gather our loved ones together to celebrate our union officially. And to throw a party in a fabulous Villa with some exceptional music!

Never did we dream that we would find each other in this world. We complete, better, annoy, love, support, tease, and cherish each other to no end. We are so lucky to begin this next chapter of our lives and can't wait for you all to be there with us for the starting shot!
LOCATION

Why Strömsfors?

Beautiful location right in the middle of Swedish nature, this stunning 20th century villa used to be the cherished home of David and Davida Nylander who built Villa Strömsfors in 1908 which was turned into a hotel in 2014.

We spent over a year searching for the ideal location in Sweden, as we wanted to find a place in Småland, as both of us have deep-rooted connections to the area. Unfortunately, we couldn't find what we were looking for in the sea of old barns or grand princess palaces that we encountered. Then Josefin stumbled across Villa Strömsfors, located in Västergötland but close to the Småland border. Just by looking at the photographs on their website, something clicked within us almost instantly. It was an eye-opener, as we found it nearly impossible to locate everything we wanted in a single venue, but Strömsfors provided practically everything we could dream of. Gorgeous scenery, proximity to water, a sense of being in the middle of nowhere, and comfortable accommodation both in and near the Villa. We wholeheartedly recommend all our guests to take a leisurely walk around the Villa during the festivities, as it is truly a sight to behold. Oh, and there is also a lovely pool!

Directions

How to get there

Whether you are travelling by plane, train or car, here’s how to get to the venue.

Train

The best route is to book a ticket to Borås Centralstation from where there are buses that will take you to Tranemo. If you are staying at the Villa then you will need to get a taxi from Tranemo. If you are staying at Sångbergs Hotell in Tranemo then it is a short walk from the bus station.

Car

Put in Villa Strömsfors or Sångbergs Hotell Tranemo in the GPS and the average travel times are as follows:

  • From Stockholm 5 hours

  • From Göteborg 1 hour

  • From Malmö 3 hours

Plane

The closest airport is Landvetter Göteborg airport which is a 1-hour drive away. You can also fly to Kastrup Copenhagen Airport which is a 3-hour drive away and has better prices and connections. We recommend all our flyers to book rental cars or to contact Mikael to organize carpools to and from airports.

Toastmaster

Do you wish to make a speech?

In Sweden, it is an age-old tradition that one person is designated as a Toastmaster. This person plays a vital role in facilitating and enhancing the entertainment aspects during the dinner. All guests are encouraged and welcome to stand up, make speeches, and sincerely express their heartfelt feelings towards the newlyweds.

So we are thrilled to introduce Mikael's sister Karin, who has been honorably appointed to take on the responsibilities of our Toastmaster for the day! Her enthusiasm and warmth will undoubtedly create a wonderful atmosphere for all the guests.

If you would be interested in making a speech during the celebration, please feel free to reach out to Karin via the email adress below, and she will be more than happy to assist you with the arrangements and any support you may need.

We advise speeches to be no more than 2 minutes long.

DRESS CODE

DRESS CODE FOR THE WEDDING IS "BLACK TIE OPTIONAL" / "MÖRK KOSTYM"

Our dress code is "MÖRK KOSTYM" and though there is no direct translation of this dress code in the UK, "BLACK TIE OPTIONAL" is the closest one. In short , consider this an opportunity to dress up in your fancier attire but leave the tuxedo and gala gown at home. The atmosphere of the Villa and the surroundings are lush, turn of the century, elegant but with a twist which you of course are more than welcome to incorporate in your choice of dress!

Bear in mind that this is Swedish summer and the weather and temperature can range from anywhere between 10 degrees C and rainy... to 30 degrees C and sunny. We're rather hoping for something closer to the latter.

MEN:

For men, the "Black Tie Optional"/"Mörk Kostym" dress code means that you should wear a full, solid suit in a dark color - such as black, dark blue, dark grey, etc. The shirt should be white. Men should also wear a tie or bow tie in a color other than solid white or solid black. Black is the recommended colour for shoes and belt.

WOMEN:

For women, the "Black Tie Optional"/"Mörk Kostym" dress code means an elegant dress (or skirt) to below the knee in a nicer material. Usually the shoulders should be covered, but this is not a must. As it is an early summer wedding we encourge you to dress colorful and summery!

The bride would like to ask that you do not wear white or black during the wedding weekend.

We ask that all children stay at home

As much as we love children we feel that in order to truly appreciate our day children should stay at home. We want all our guests to be able to relax and enjoy the ceremony and party.
